Richard C. "Dick and Willy" Williams, age 79, of Council Bluffs, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Northcrest Care Center.

Dick was born on September 23, 1933, in Council Bluffs, to the late Clyde and Elsie (Annin) Williams. Dick served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Army. He worked as a firefighter for Council Bluffs Fire Department for 10 years. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church, American Legion Rainbow Post #2, Local 15 Fire Fighters Union. During High School Dick was on the Thomas Jefferson Football Team and held the 440 Relay Track record for 42 Years; he was proud to run in the Drake relays; he sang with the TJ Boys Quartet. Dick loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He married Claudine Greer on April 25, 1954.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; grandson, Justin Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Claudine Williams, of Council Bluffs; 2 sons, Rick and MaryAnn Williams, of Carson, Iowa; Rob and Stephanie Williams, of Omaha; 10 grandchildren, Shawna and Chris Hawkins, Jamie and Rob Kubik, Sara and Scott Porter, Aaron and Dana Williams, Tanya, Matthew, Alyssa, Presley, Ricky and Jordan Williams; 12 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Hunt, of Council Bluffs; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation with family on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Memorial Service on Friday, at 10 a.m., at Crossroads Christian Church, 2755 Avenue N, with Reverend Joe Skinner and Reverend Brody Tubaugh officiating. Military Honors rendered by American Legion Rainbow Post #2. Private Burial of Cremated Remains at a later date. Memorials to Northcrest Care Center or to the family.

Dick was a classmate and so enjoyed his friendship. Claudine, so sorry to hear of Dick's passing.

To all of the Dick Williams family..I remember Dick as a fine man when I was a little boy..I have not seen Dick for many years but it appears from what I read here from others he just got better..he was always good to me and my brothers and sister..he is fondly remembered by me..RIP..Jerry Pitt

The Huyck family adds our condolences and prayers to those of others who knew Rich. He was very close to our Dad (his Uncle Jim) and we remember being with him many times during our days growing up in CB. He was a super guy and will be missed. May he rest in peace. God bless.

Claudine my thoughts are with you and your family today. We have so many good memories of our early married days! Bob and I enjoyed seeing both of you in Pahrump every time we came there, and my family there always enjoyed both of you. Take care!
