Robert "Bob" Adamczak


Robert "Bob" Adamczak, 86, Moose Lake, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center, Moose Lake. He was born on December 28, 1926 in Willow River to Charles and Rose (Kiminski) Adamczak. Bob attended Willow River High School and in his Senior year he enlisted in the United States Army. Bob was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in Okinawa, Japan. On September 11, 1948, Bob married Bena Kosloski in Willow River. They moved to the Twin Cities and Bob began installing water softeners. In 1961, they moved back to Moose Lake. They owned and operated the Coast to Coast Store and later farmed. Bob also owned and operated Adamczak Builders, sold for U.S. Homes, and also dabbled in real estate through the years. He had established the Red Fox RV Park and Campground in Moose Lake. Bob loved to tinker on different projects which led him to several inventions including the Ladder Buddy Tray and Rope Lock. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake where he was very involved in the fundraising for the new church. Bob was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sturgeon Lake/Denham American Legion Post #361. He loved to hunt and fish through the years.


Bob was preceded in death by a son: Stephen Adamczak.


He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years, Bena; 11 children: Mike (Pam) of Duluth; Patricia Hannah of Minneapolis, Floyd (Jan) of Andover; Ramona (Bob) Draeger of Esko; Jim of Eagan; Mary (Dave) Gruenes of St. Cloud; Joseph (Candy) of Kettle River; Annie (Mike) Glavan of Edina; Jeff of Sturgeon Lake; David of Tomah, WI; and Richard of St. Paul; 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister: Bernice Eckart of Missouri; two sister-in-laws: Alice (Charles) Nagan of Washington Grove, MD and Shirley Swain of Pensacola, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.


Visitation will be from 9 am until the 11 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Moose Lake. Military Honors will be accorded by the Sturgeon Lake – Denham American Legion Post #361. Cremation will follow the service.

Inurnment will be on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 1 PM in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Moose Lake.

Memorials are preferred in Bob's memory to the Holy Angels Debt Reduction Fund or the Mercy Foundation.
