Bob was truly an amazing person, and my second father.
He was always there for family, friends and community.
Dad had a unique gift of carefully, in his own way, helping me learn lives important lessons, for which I am forever greatful.
I love and miss you. While now is not goodbye, it is until I see you again. Love Chet

I will forever have very fond memories of Bob, as I always looked forward to seeing him at the Bender/Koehler family gatherings and simply 'catching up'. He was a gentle man that will forever be missed by many, but it is good to know he is at peace. God bless you Marti, the Bender girls and the entire family.

We have known Bob and Marti for over 20 years and have enjoyed our Monday Night Group and dinners. Bob was always very helpful and I love the piece of jewelry he made me.
Our condolences to Marti and the entire family.
May God give you extra love and strength during this time.
Love, Allen and Linda Strunk

Bender Family:
I have lots of fond memories of growing up as one of the extended family members in your house. Being an only child, I was blessed to be included in that. Remembering taffy pulls, trick-or-treating, swimming and dance recitals! (Also remember Missy talking me into taking the car without permission to go through the drive-thru @ Wendy's).Bob will be truly missed.

Dear Dad,
Wow- Can't believe your gone and I must wait to see you again when we meet in heaven. Please watch over us all, as I know your loving presence is with us.
No matter how old I am I will always need my father but your gentle nature will always be close to my heart. The memories are what we are left with and sharing those helps make the pain of you loss better.

My love to Marti, Teri, and all the family I want you to know that I remember Bob as a very nice friend to me. When Marti and Bob came to visit me in Arkansas, you helped me so much. I had just become a widow myself and together you kept me busy with helping to decorate my new home - hanging pictures and helping to entertain me. Bob was gentle and kind and very helpful. You both helped me to pass some happy days at that time. I do remember Bob sitting on the back porch eating his breakfasts. I will never forget those times. Marti, I do wish I could be with you at this time of sadness. Do take are of yourself and remember that all of us your friends are thinking of you. Bob was a kind man, a great person and now, he rests in peace. Thinking of you with love, Chiqui Sjovall

It's difficult to say good-bye to Bob. He and his wife, Marti, and the two of us go way back to earlier years in Las Vegas. When we first met them, we were so surprised to find that they married the same day and year as us!! We will always remember Bob's beautiful blue eyes, quick wit, and deep love for everyone. He stayed committed to everything he did - with his family, especially his girls; at work; at church; helping others! Our fondest memories are with the Marriage Encounter movement. Bob will be very missed, but we will meet again in heaven! Our prayers and thoughts are with Bob's family members who will continue his legacy.

We enjoyed the time we spent with Bob and his family and only wish it could have been longer. He and Marti raised a wonderful family and that speaks well of both of them. Our hearts and thoughts are with Bob and the Family.

Although I did not know Bob very well, I do remember how friendly and kind he always was. He had a quick smile and never hesitated to tell a story that was usually related to how proud he was of one of his family members. I know that he will be greatly missed by them all, but will always be with each of them in spirit. What a wonderful legacy of a beautiful family he leaves behind. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My deepest condolences to all the family... I will always remember Bob for his quiet and peaceful demeanor at the family holiday gatherings. I will remember Bob's interest in sports, especially when he talked about the St Louis Cardinals and anything golf related, ...and how genuinely he would inquire regarding the sports activities of our kids when they were young. I will remember how his calming and supportive presence helped my mom when Marti and Bob visited her as she was moving into a new house following my father's passing. I will remember his broad smile, the way he chuckled, and his bright blue friendly eyes - that same twinkle he had in his eyes, I see in all four of his daughters... He will be missed by many and remembered by us all - may he rest in peace. Sending love to all the family, Mike and Gigi, Chimane and Sydney Cowan

I have many fond memories as a child sharing family vacations with the Benders. Uncle Bob was always one to make them even more enjoyable.
So glad that I was able to visit in October. I know that there is a very special place for you in heaven. You will be missed.

Pat and I want to express our condolences to Marty Bender and her children and grandchildren on the passing of her husband Bob Bender on September 26th. Although we haven't seen Bob and Marty in many years we have often thought of them.
One of our best vacation trips was when we had the opportunity to visit them in Vegas for a few days and they took us down to the strip to see the sights and spend some money. I lost $5 dollars in the slots and quit! Anyway, we will never forget their hospitality and friendship. Bob will be greatly missed...
