Not sure what to say?

Bob and I were young hires at SUNY Brockport. We came to know each other first as doctoral students at the University of Rochester. One of my biggest disappointments was leaving Brockport and the many friends Bob and I shared. So many years since we have communicated without any good reason. Life takes us on strange and different paths. Bob always was one of my favorite people. He was bright, witty and just plain charming a really nice guy.

We are sincerely sorry about your loss. May God comfort you during this difficult time.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your father. May he rest in peace. We shared the same hobby.

Thirty years ago, I was a graduate student of Dr. Blake's in several education classes. Additionally, he was my advisor and reader of my Master's thesis.
I can vividly recall his advocacy and love of education. He was an extremely competent teacher and mentor and a brilliant man; however, it was his kindness that I best remember.
On the last class before we were to begin our student teaching assignments, Dr. Blake went to the podium and looked out at our class of perhaps twenty...

I crossed paths for the first time with Bob at the Day Sailer North American Championships with my best friend Chris Snow when we drove from Cape Cod as teenagers to compete in Brockport. That was 1976 or 7, and although it seems like a hundred years ago I still remember that Bob was one of the most encouraging influences on our young lives. He met us, made sure that we had a place to stay, ensured that we felt welcome at the various events associated with the regatta, and mentored us without...

"May our heavenly Father sustain the family at this time of such great loss."

My deepest sympathy to all the family. Bob was Chair of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction when I was hired at The College of Brockport in 1971. He was a dedicated faculty member and a prolific scholar. He will surely live on in his writings.

It is with great sadness I read of Bob's passing.
I knew Bob as a friend and sailing competitor for many years.
My late wife Nina fully enjoyed their conversations on many subjects when they met.
I feel sure that DUMPLING will continue to sail on for many years.
You and Bob Jr were a great team!
God Bless !
