BECKER RITTER ELMBROOK FUNERAL HOME Obituary

On September 8, 2014 Robert ?Bob? Anthony Koehne, at the early age of 43 went peacefully in the arms of our Savior after a hard fought battle with colon cancer. Bob was born at St. Joseph?s Hospital in Milwaukee on April 23, 1971 to the late Robert and Maryalice Koehne of Wauwatosa . Bob is survived by his wife Darby (Nee Cusick)and two small children Bobby(7) and Darby(5). He is also survived by his sisters Susan Koehne of Milwaukee and Sarah (Mark) Lambrecht of Wauwatosa; Ann (William)Barres of Hingham, nephews Andrew and Matthew Lambrecht; nieces Claire and Grace Lambrecht, and Katherine and Elizabeth Barres.

Bob was a 1989 graduate of MUHS. He studied at the Goethe Institute Berlin in the summer of 1989. Bob continued his Jesuit education at Fordham University School of Economics in New York, New York with honors of Magna Cum Laude and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Bob moved back to Milwaukee after college to join his father and two sisters in the family business of R.F. Koehne & Associates. He later received an Executive MBA and Masters of Accounting degree from the University of Milwaukee. Bob also became a practicing CPA with his most recent association as the Director of Finances for the Florentine Opera of Milwaukee.

Bob was an interesting character who loved his English Pointers and the hunt of the bird. After receiving his Master Gardner designation, Bob became an avid gardner following in the footsteps of his mother Maryalice Koehne. His devotion to flowers will carry on through his line of hybridized day lilies.

Although Bob Koehne?s time here was short he left a lasting impression on many. You mention the name Bob Koehne to people and a huge smile comes across their faces followed by a great story. He touched many with his kind, fun-loving, gregarious laugh, and infections spirit. He was a legend in his own time! He will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, September 14th from 12 Noon to 5 PM. On Monday, September 15th, a Eulogy will be given at 10:45 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary?s Visitation Church, Elm Grove (1260 Church St.)

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Koehne Children?s Educational Fund are appreciated. (make check payable to Darby Koehne in care of BMO Harris Bank, 900 Elm Grove Rd., Elm Grove, WI 53122 Attn: Tina Maas.)

Sunshine, daydream, walking in the tall trees,
going where the wind goes
Blooming like a red rose, breathing more freely,
Ride our singin', I'll walk you in the morning sunshine
Sunshine, daydream. Sunshine, daydream. Walking in the sunshine.

Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathy to you and your children, Darby. Bob was quite the character. We had many laughs in high school. You and your family are in my prayers.

Darby,
Please know our thoughts and prayers have been with you and your family.

With deepest sympathy, Mary and Willi Jurczyk

We send our deepest sympathy to the Koehne Family. Such a wonderful man taken from you far to early. We had the pleasure of seeing Bob on his visits to Massachusetts visiting Ann and her family.

My condolences to Bob's family. This is a sad and shocking loss. We met when Bob attended walks at Boerner Botanical Gardens and then later talked about his joining the Florentine Opera staff. Wishing his family strength and comfort. Bob was a lovely person.

I've known Bobby since he was a little boy _ his parents were close friends. My deep sympathy to his family; another fine man taken from us far too young.

My sympathy to the Koehne family. He will be missed. Darby and the children are in my prayers.

I went to grade school at St. Judes in Wauwatosa with Bob. I remember hanging out at his house with him and a neighbor girl because we were scared of noises we heard in her house. He kept us there until her parents go home so we were safe, but told us ghost stories the whole time. May God bless you and your young family through this time.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Koehne family! I worked with Bobby many years ago at R.F. Koehne. He had the best sense of humor, always smiling when he came to work (though I recall not getting many of his jokes:) ) I am saddened by all of this and Darby, I have been and will continue keeping you and the kids in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you the strength to get through this difficult time.

It was a pleasure to work with Bob at The Florentine Board of Directors. My sincere sympathy to his family. Kitty Principe
