I have fond memories of Senator Byrd in the 50's when he came back to his church in W.Va. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

I remember as an elementary student in Richwood, WV, studying WV History, taking the WV Golden Horseshoe Test. Studying about Senators Byrd and Jennings. As I grew older, I enjoyed watching and listening to Senator Byrd on C-Span. I was totally engrossed in what he had to say and his emotions expressed during his time on the floor of the Senate. I concur with the person who wrote about the God of all comfort, because when you lose someone, it hurts. I definitely know the feeling. But there is nothing like the comfort that you can receive from the scriptures.
