I remember Bob from many years ago. When we attended the same church as him, he would see me and would call me "water bug". I don't know what he meant by that name but it meant so much to me... and still does. I was saddened to hear of his passing and he will be greatly missed by me and my family.

Mr. Calhoun will be greatly missed, but his legacy lives on in so many of us, his "special sons". His mentoring and love of scouting has meant so much to so many. What a wonderful man he was and inspired others to become. My thoughts are with you.

It was revealed to me in the few short hours I spent with you all why Mr. Calhoun meant so much to so many people. My deepest sympathies and prayers that God's presence comforts you at this time.

I too considered myself one of Bob's special sons. I had the opportunity to speak with him just a week ago and I'm thankful for that. Bob was always one of my heros and will continue to be so. So many good memories will keep his presence felt for me and, I'm certain, many others for years to come. Anne and Suzanne, I pray that you'll be comforted in the thought that Bob was loved and respected by so many.

I was terribly saddened to learn of the loss of this dear, dear man. I was, and always will be, one of Bob's "special sons." Anne and Suzanne, thank you for sharing your husband and father with me and the other young men of Troop 93 for so many years. Please accept my deepest sympathy in your time of suffering.
