Dear Mrs. Kathleen Sanderson Culpepper

Praise the Lord for memory of Dr. Robert Harold Culpepper.

The pastors and congregations of the Japan Baptist Convention wish to express their deepest condolences to the family of Dr.Bob Culpepper upon the news of his going home to be with Lord.
The work of Culpepper Sensei had a splendid impact here in Japan, especially at Seinan Gakuin University and many churches in Fukuoka. We also rejoice in the work continued through his family of...

I have such wonderful memories of Kay and Bob while they are in Wake Forest. They were amazing people who cared about others in their time of need. They were very supportive of me when I was in a deep valley of dispair. They offered to help. I will always rememmber their kindness to me and to all of the people they knew.

Bob was a teacher, mentor, and friend. He participated in my ordination service 29 years ago. I often visited him in Wake Forest after we graduated and we'd eat lunch together, talk theology and some fishing (he was the fisherman, not me) and play chess. I stopped by to see him in June and learned he was in the hospital. I drove over to visit. It was good to see him. To use the words of the Apostle Paul: "I thank my God for every remembrance of you." I will miss him dearly and will...

Cathy, Rita and I were blessed often by contact with Bob and Kay. We were remembering Bob's visit to Nagasaki tonight. Both of us remembered his love for praise songs. As he and I traveled somewhere together I remember our singing one of his favorites together:
"Thou art my God and I will praise Thee,
Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee.
O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good,
For His mercy endureth for ever."

How pleasing to think of his singing it now, face to...

Bob was a mentor & friend. I am so thankful our paths crossed. What a gift his love of the Lord & his Word was to me as a student & later as his friend. Prayers for the family.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Cathy, I'm so glad that you and Anne are close and that you called her for help. Needless to say, We always enjoyed visiting in your home and vica versa yoou all in ours in Kagoshima--long ago. Ed always enjoyed Bob and I enjoyed yuur Mother. I'm glad that youand Anne are close. Sue O.

Cathy, I'm sure I don't have to tell you how much your parents, and especially your father, have meant to me, but I want to remind you at this time. If I can find an email address for you, I'll send some pictures I recently digitized from when your father spoke at my ordination. Believe me, our prayers are with you.

Bob's & Kay's genuine love for people is a testimony of the Holy Spirit alive in them as they walked this earth as we know it. We are eternally grateful for the love and encouragement they poured out on us. Bob preached Jack's ordination sermon and was the first to lay hands on Jack for the ordination itself. Our hearts are heavy at his passing, but we know that we shall meet again some day in heaven. Our love and condolences to Cathy and the family.
