My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Skip Engblom. I share the same name of Robert Engblom as did my father and does my son. It was through sheer happenstance that my son came across this obituary today and forwarded it to me. Upon opening the link I was amazed to see a photo that was a perfect blend of my Uncle Eric and my own father. Heaven just gained a remarkable Man.. one that was very special to me. Skip was a dear friend that I shared good times & bad times with during our time together at Food Lion & after. He always managed to make me laugh & smile when things were crazy. Thank you Becky for allowing me to spend a few hours with him before he left us. That meant the world to me. I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF WORKING WITH SKIP DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ELLOREE, SC DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN 1983. WE'VE JUST LOST ANOTHER ONE OF "THE PIONEERS,"---------THE PEOPLE WHO BUILT FOODLION DURING WHAT I CALL "THE GO-GO YEARS." EVERYONE WORKED HARD, PLAYED HARD, KNEW HOW TO LAUGH, AND GOT GREAT RESULTS.
