Not sure what to say?

In 1981 I was 10 years old when my father was re-assigned to Pease AFB in Portsmouth, NH. We lived on Fir Ct together with the Fortune Family who became a second family for me, and Mr. Fortune became one of the most impactful men I would ever meet in my life. He was the strongest, toughest man I would ever know - and at the same time the most loving and caring man you could imagine. He has been and will always be a role model to me, someone I think of often. Mr. Fortune was a man of the...

There is no intent to impose on this time in your family's grief. When Mr. Fortune's obit was sent to me I gasped. He greatly favors my older brother AF COL(Ret) Bill Fortune, as well as my dad (Ray Fortune). As I read the tender comments, your Mr. Fortune also resembles the qualities of the men in my family. Will you kindly accept the genuine sympathy expressed by a total stranger? Dorothy Ray Fortune Hayner (MSG)Ret, US Army. ..another blessed MisFortune

Love and prayers at this most difficult of times. He was a classic guy in the early 60's on Ft. Kobbe.

I never had the privilege of meet Mr. Fortune., but I have the honor of knowing his daughter. Tracy take comfort in knowing you now have a special guardian angel to watch over you and the girls. Your father is at peace. Robert and I will continue to pray for you and your family. God is faithful

Wes, so sorry to hear about your Dad. Will keep you in my prayers.

Shirley and Family,
Please accept our sincere sympathy. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sending our love.

We are so sorry for your loss. May God keep fast hold of you with his right hand during this difficult time.

I'm a 69 year old man who is sobbing with greif over the loss of a man who I admired enormously from the first time I met him as a 13 year old playing baseball in ft kobbe, canal zone. I left ft kobbe at 16 and throughout my entire life I bragged about being a friend of "bobby" fortune...a man of great inner strength and integrity. "bobby" was the "fonze" of my lifetime. I feel oh so fortunate to have surprised "bobby" thanksgiving eve, 2012...just showed up at his door, after 51 years, with...

Thoughts and prayers are with you all. I loved Bobby.
