Bob was a lifelong friend since first grade; and all the way thru Maryland University. The Hysan family always made me feel like I was a part of their family. Thru all the years, Bob was a very kind, considerate and gentle man.

I lost a dear friend last week. I'm so glad I got to speak to him on his last day at work. Bob was hurting but still managed a smile. We spoke of many things these past years; kids, getting older, current events, and books. We lent each other books and I still have one of his. I would like to keep it, if I may. Inside the cover it says "Bob". Rest In Peace, my good friend.

Mr. Bob will be dearly missed by Chapel Forge students and staff. He loved the students and he loved coming to work. To love what you do right up until the end is a gift. I am so grateful to have worked with Mr. Bob. May he rest in peace.

I am sorry for your lost and for out lost. Mr. Bob was a kind and gentle man who loved his home family and his Chapel Forge family. We loved him. He will always be an example of dedication to children. Even through obliviously pain, Bob would be at work to be with "the kids" who brought him great joy. Quietly he would talk with them, encourage them and always praise them. His love for them could be seen in their eyes and smiles. Bob never seemed to give up, when asked if I could get him something or if he wanted to sit for awhile, he always said, "No, I'm OK.", and he was. He was doing what he loved to do and that was his gift to me and many.
Bob is the only man who could talk baseball like my father! He knew the history of the Senators, all the players and could make up the dream team. He was always ready to stop by and relay the latest baseball tidbit of a different era. it was fun to see and hear his enthusiasm.
Heading for Home base with no more pain.
God Bless
eileen

My son went to school with "Mr. Bob" this year. It was his first experience with formal school, and he had a wonderful year with his teachers. Mr.Bob set a foundation for our son that will support him from this point on.
He will be missed terribly.

I won't make it to the viewing, but I am thinking of your family as you go through this difficult time. I enjoyed reading your recollection of family history starting with the birth of your brother. You have lots of good memories. I know you will miss him a great deal.

Thoughts and prayers are being sent to Bob's wife Carol and her family. I didn't know Bob really well but would see him at many Byrd/Hysan/Ritzel gatherings. And yes, he was always wearing a sport jersey. I asked my dear friend Jerry once about Bob and she told me how proud she was of her baby brother, and that he worked with special needs children and what a gentle heart he had. My sympathy to all the extended family for the terrific void they will feel with his absence. Hugs to all.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob for my entire 14 years at Chapel Forge. He was in my classroom this entire school year, and I will miss the incredible amount of knowledge from sports to the history of P.G. County that Bob seemed to have an endless supply of on a daily basis. He was a great man and a great friend. All the best to your family.
