I had the opportunity to work with Robert for only a short time while with Utah Wildlife Services. While it was only a couple of years before my career moved me along to other Wildlife Services programs, Robert made an impression on me that I will never forget. We were attending a Four Corners Conference in Colorado (2003) and I was fairly new to Wildlife Services. Well, unknown to me, some of the other trappers had some jokes in mind to play on me. Linda, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. We will all miss him. I hope you will find compfort in knowing that families are Forever!

I am so sorry about Robert. He was a good man and a very nice man. I met him at the Sagebrush Cafe in Tabiona, and we had some nice chats. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. May the memories you have help you through this difficult time.

I don't think I had seen Robert since my dad's funeral (Jim Miller) until several years ago... I had hiked into a secluded area near Current Creek during the bow hunt. Suddenly the pristine, quiet morning was overwhelmed with coyote calls and barking. After catching my breath and coming to my senses I realized the Trapper had snuck in on me. I invited him to camp for coffee. My dad held him with the HIGHEST regards. I like to think that maybe they are having some coffee and conversation...

Robert Ivie passed away on September 14, 2012 at the age of 53 in Duchesne, Utah. Funeral Home Services for Robert are being provided by Hullinger Mortuary. The obituary was featured in Uintah Basin Standard on September 17, 2012.
