Not sure what to say?

Doris Jean

I just learned of Bob's death. My heart goes out to you and your boys. I wish I had been there with you.

Please call me when you can.

Love,
Martha

Bob treated everyone with warm smile and a true interest into whatever the other person may be saying. Just a great guy to spend time with in the cockpit. One of the best! God bless.

I flew with Bob as a co-pilot many times during my early years in Houston. He was always a pleasure to fly with; easy going yet very professional. We will all miss him.

As a lifelong friend of his son's Jeff and Steve, all of us Champions kids loved "Uncle Bob" as we called him. He always made you feel welcome in their home and he played a mean game of driveway hoops. I know him as a great husband, father, coach, pilot and friend. I will miss seeing him on my trips to Houston. I always made time to see him and Doris when I was in town. I guess Doris will have to keep the beer stocked for me now! Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Lawson family.

Uncle Bob , they were always one word, to me used separately they would always conjure up the other. We lived far from each other and he was a seldom seen uncle that was never felt to be seldom seen . His essence his presence was always there just beneath the surface and from so many benign topics would initiate a flow of all of the good memories of him .The topics Airline pilot, Houston, Colorado, golf, family, Texas drawl would initiate a flood of all of the good memories of him . These...

I flew as a 727 Flight Engineer with Bob as the Captain many times. Bob was such a pleasure to fly with. He treated everyone on the crew with respect and kindness. When I saw his name on the schedule, I knew it was going to be a good trip. One of the best at Delta Airlines. God Bless.

Dear Doris, Family, and Friends,

On behalf of the Delta Golden Wings, the fraternal organization of retired Delta pilots, of which Capt. Robert Ellis Lawson was a member, I wish to extend to you, his family, and friends the condolences and sympathies of our members at his passing.

The bond of friendship and respect from the time we shared as line pilots for Delta Air Lines, both professionally and personally, is an enduring memory of Bob. He will not be forgotten....

Bob was one of the finest crew members that I ever worked with. I hope his journey WEST was a smooth one. Jesse
