When I married his niece, the one thing I remember about him was his handshake, the man had a firm grip even in his old age. He was always sweet to Heidi and always remembered my name even though we didn't see him often.

I will always remember the water fights Uncle Ratchie started at the family reunions when we were young. What a character! He was always so upbeat and I admire his determination to push through these last years as his health was failing. Condolences to my cousins on the loss of their father. Love you, Uncle Ratchie!! May your soul rest in peace. You will be missed, we will keep you in our hearts until we see you again.
