Not sure what to say?

Pastor Myers was my confirmation pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Matteson, IL. I have fond memories of the children's services and sitting around the campfire at Manitoqua Camp in Frankfort IL singing folk songs. Mary and him made a lifetime impact at Zion by introducing the modern church service vs. the contemporary. We always loved hearing Mary play the guitar and Pastor Myers' uplifting sermons. Your entire Family was greatly missed when you moved from Illinois. I am certain the...

Thank you for being my pastor. I will always remember you and your wife, Mary, with great fondness.

My family were members of Zion Lutheran Church in Matteson in the mid 1980's through 1992, when we moved. Pastor Myers was the most wonderful pastor I have ever had and I remember both him and his amazing wife, Mary (who ran the women's Bible study) with great fondness. I did not know of his passing until today when I had a conversation with a pastor who visits my library frequently. At the time that we were members, Zion was booming with a large elementary school. Mary might not remember us,...

Dear Mary & Family,
While reflecting back on our 38+ year marriage we began to talk about people who had a positive impact on our life together. The first person that came to both of us was your dear husband. He was a kind, & tender hearted man who gave of himself so unselfishly. We are so thankfulthat he was a part of our life at Trinity, Roselle.
We did not know about his passing until today when we began a search for him. We had hoped to do a road trip so that we...

Dear Mary and family,

Please receive the condolences of my wife, Deb, and me. Bob was such a blessing in our lives. I look back fondly on the times with Bob and out Ohio District Ministerial Health Committee meetings and gatherings. Bob was such a blessing to the church workers of our Ohio District! We also fondly remember our times of coming to Timothy House on Kelley's Island with both Bob and Mary. Both of you are such blessings for whom we give great thanks to God. We wish...

Dear Mary & Family: Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this very sad and difficult time. Rev. Myers was one of my favorite people at the District Office in Olmsted Falls. He always seemed to know when you needed someone to talk to, and you always felt better after talking with him. I worked for the Church Extension Fund at the District Office from 2004 until 2015 and got to see him often. I truly missed him when he retired.

Pastor Myers was truly an asset to Zion Lutheran in Matteson, Il. He helped us all through some rough times with his love and compassion. He was truly a man of God. Best wishes to Mary and family. Chuck Adams

Pastor and Mary Myers were compassionate, courageous, caring people during their time at Trinity, Roselle. They are sorely missed. Pastor Myers, you always went the extra mile to help parishioners. It was well noted by our family. Say hello to Jesus in heaven. The Streges love you and your family very much. Rest in peace with JesusMary, my dad will meet Bob as well as my father-in-law, both deceased pastors in heaven. We grieve with you
