Robert Kardien Vanderhoek, 76, of Shapleigh, ME, passed away from lung cancer on Sunday September 15, 2024.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Bob was the son of the late Robert Vanderhoek and Patricia
(Connors) Vanderhoek. He was a Vietnam War veteran who served in the Navy, and later lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. He worked as a paving foreman and was employed by Coca-Cola as a young man, but his most long-standing career was owner of the Lakeside Boat Rentals on Pawtuckaway Lake.
Bob enjoyed classic rock, playing computer games, SCUBA diving, and science. He dedicated years of his life to perfecting his scientific theory on Proton Cosmology. What he was most proud of, however, was his family.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, as well as his brother John Vanderhoek. He is survived by his beloved son Robert Vanderhoek and his wife Elizabeth, and his two grandchildren, Lana and Lucas.
Robert’s services will be held Wednesday October 2, 2024 at 1:45 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA 02532.
