Not sure what to say?

Dr. Wright had a strong influence on my appreciation and understanding of music. After taking conducting classes under him and being directed by him in choir, I took away a profound perspective on music, particularly choral music, that will never leave me. Thank you Dr. Wright for your passion and your insight.

Rest in peace 'Big Brother'. Though we have drifted apart since our days at Samford you have remained a positive influence on my life. I value the times we spent together.

Robert Earl, you will be deeply missed by all of the lives you touched. May you rest in peace. Ann,you and your family are in our thoughts and prays.

It seems like it was just a few years ago that we were all in Greenwood School and while many of us were playing and sometimes getting into trouble...Robert Earl was playing the piano and singing and studying. What an inspiration his life is everyone who knew him. I am so saddened with his passing, even though we did not keep in touch over the years. My condolences to his family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Bob's passing. I have wonderful memories of singing in his Concert Choir at Tennessee Tech in the early '90s. He was so kind and talented and funny. I remember him saying, "I've got shoes older than you" to students, and also how passionate his face became as he conducted us during concerts. May he rest in peace.

I was fortunate to sing in the Tennessee Tech Chorale under the direction of Dr. Wright. I reconnected with him last Feb. and I told him what a tremendous impact he had on my life not only as a musician but as a human being. He was truly a great man who will be fondly remembered in the lives that he touched. My prayers go out to his family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dr. Bob, my teacher, and most importantly my friend - for the past 26 years!

You left your mark on my life. Through the years I learned from you the beautiful, the tender, the kind, the intelligent, the witty, and the brave ways to sing and to BE.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson said it best, "I am a part of all that I have met..." As a result of your guidance, insight, and acceptance, you will always be a part of who I am. Thank you!

My love to Annie, Rob, Josh and...

My prayers and thoughts are with all of the family during this time. Robert Earl, Bo and I grew up together in Greenwood and our parents remained friends until they passed away. Mrs. Wright is a precious lady and is still a dear friend of mine.

Robert Earl was my friend and classmate BHS '63. We shared a love for music. I admired and respected his talent...he (I'm sure) patiently endured my attempts at 'being in a band' along with Jim, Jerry, Lee and Bruce. He's smiling at this right now.
Gone too soon. My condolences, prayers and best wishes to all his family.
