Robin Culver Obituary

Robin Hamilton Culver COLUMBIA - A Celebration of Life for Robin Hamilton Culver, 56, was held on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family. Robin passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Born in Baltimore, MD., she was a daughter of Judith K. Hamilton and the late Clifford L. "Skip" Hamilton. She was the devoted wife of Donald D. Culver. Robin graduated from Patterson High School and earned her Associates Degree from Dundalk Community College A selfless, generous, kind-hearted, wife, mother and friend, she was the rock of the Culver Family, ensuring she attended all her grandchildren's sporting events, school events, dance recitals, and taking them on amazing vacations that were filled with board games, water slides, and fruit snacks. Never one to turn down an adventure, she zip-lined, toured Alaska, parasailed, and was always planning the next vacation. An avid tennis player, she was part of the Lexington Tennis community for over 20 years. The beach was her happy place and she traveled to the beaches of South Carolina often after settling here following her husband's 27 year career in the United States Army. The warmth and comfort she gave to so many people can never be explained or replaced. While taken way too soon, God certainly received a good one and she will be forever honored, missed, and remembered. We love you Nana. From the moment we met, I knew Robin was going to rock my world. As we went through life, our building blocks were love, friendship, family, and a keen since of our love for each other. Over the years as we grew older and our family grew, our foundations would be tested, sometimes to the limit. But every night we looked into each other eyes, proud of our family, extended family, and our friends. The bonds, the effort that each took to make our extended family the family that it is, filled our hearts with pride and accomplishment. What I learned over the years, and the thing I can't come to terms with, is the fact that Robin was so much more-she was the very breath of our world. God has our breath now, I struggle to understand why, she had so much more to do. Her life today was her grandkids - she dedicated her life to that end and nobody deserved more. My heart is exploding with sadness and I am so lost in this world without her. The pain I feel, knowing the only thing she wanted in life, is now lost forever. God, I so need my breath. In addition to her husband, Don and mother, Judith K. Hamilton, she is survived by her daughters, Jeanne M. (Edwards) and husband, Mickey, Michael L. (Williamson) and husband, Jason; son, Donald D. Culver, Jr.; grandchildren, Hayden W. Williamson, Donald D. Culver, III, Alyssa M. Culver-Draper, Landon T. Culver, Anna E. Edwards, Culver M. Williamson, and Miller J. Williamson. She is also survived by her brother, Lance L. Hamilton and wife Darby; and sister, Gail Mathes. She was predeceased by her grandson, Matthew L. Draper, Jr. and brother-in-law, Tony Mathes. Memorials may be made to The SCOA Cares Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210. Please sign the online guestbook at www.dunbarfunerals.com.

It is incomprehensible that we will not have Robin's famous laugh at Baker any longer. She was a great friend and super smart cohort. Her passing leaves a big hole in all of our lives. Our Prayers and Love to the Culver Family.

Robin & I were friends in Jr. High School. We had some fun times; she was always willing to help others. Even though we hadnt seen each other since we were 16, we reconnected through FB. So glad to see how much love she had in her life. She will be missed by so many. Praying for the whole family during this difficult time.

I will miss her laughter and sense of humor and that smile. And when it's time to get my racquet restrung I'll be lost. She always took it to T&M for me. Praying for all that loved her as we mourn the loss of a special lady. Thanking God for her and that we will see her again.
