Not sure what to say?

My condolences go out to his whole family...he will be missed, but his spirit will always carry on!

God must of needed a clean up hitter and an all around good man. Rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss. May you take comfort in the wonderful memories of your time together.

Dad enjoying some Dr.Pepper

What stands out most for me about Rod was his genuine personality and one of the most approachable guys you could meet. One thing I will never forgot and to this day I still talk about it was when we were taking batting practice at Harveys ball fields in Council Bluffs a couple of years back Rod was not only putting the ball over the fence consistently but he was launching them into the outfield of an adjacent field. These had to be close to 400' shots. I also had the pleasure to play with...

My daddy, Dusty and me! I Love You!!

I love you Daddy and I miss you so much. We will see each other again!
Love always,
Your Baby!

Rod was a man who dearly loved his family and friends. We pray God's peace for Cheryl and the Evans family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of playing softball with and against Rod for any years. Rod was not only an outstanding softball player, he was an outstanding person. Senior Softball has truly lost one of its best. I will remember Rod playing last summer for my 60's tournament team with a gleam in his eyes to be on the ball field. He was magnificent. He has a new team now and will be ready to go. Rest in peace Rod.

The players and family members of Nebraska Senior Softball are jointly saddened to hear of the loss of our friend and fellow ballplayer. Rod was a force to be reckoned with on the field and a gentle soul and kind man off the diamond. He was the perfect teammate who could play competitively and fiercely but was always encouraging and supportive of his team and his competitors. Man, the guy could hit some monster home runs! We will celebrate his life in 2014 and remember him for much, much...
