Funeral for Roger Dale Cole, 58, of Decatur will be Friday, July 15, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with Ron Rikard and Keith Jones officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Cole, who died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Huntsville Hospital, was born February 8, 1953, in Lawrence County to Kirby and Corine Cole. He retired from Delphi Automotive/General Motors after 28 years of service. He was a faithful member of Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and family. He was an amazing man of God. Even with his disabilities, he never missed the opportunity to work for God. One of his passions was the building of the Pine Grove Life Center.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Heaps Cole; four sons, Seth Cole (Ramona), Clay Cole, Greg Hill (Lisa) and Shannon Hill (Cassandra); two brothers, Michael Cole (Dottie) and Junior Cole (Jennifer); two sisters, Brenda Cartee (Otis) and Susan Lathem (Jackie); and nine grandchildren, Grayson and Hudson Cole, Montanna and Weston Cole, Brandon Jeffreys, Chance and Mackenzie Hill, Cody and Megan Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CB&S Bank under Pine Grove Roger Cole Life Center Fund.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Roger. He and I go back a long way from 1st grade thru 12th. He will be greatly missed. My condolences to Wanda and his family. My prayers are with you all.
