Ronald Lee Betts

1934 - 2017

MIDDLETOWN - Ronald Lee Betts passed away surrounded by loving family, Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017. Ronald proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a longtime member of Local Union IBEW 313. Ronald enjoyed cooking delicious food, growing a huge vegetable garden, watching stock car racing and western movies, and listening to country music. He cherished his family and loved to have them all over at the house together.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Cecilia Betts; children, Christine McCarthy (Robert) and Ronald Betts, Jr.; grandchildren: Samantha Waltemire (Luke), Ashley McCarthy, Ronald Betts III, and Nicholas Betts; great-grandchild, Jackson; sister, Ruth Ann Martens; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Betts; brother, William Betts; and sister, Marie Morris.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Chapel at Gracelawn Cemetery, New Castle, followed by a service in celebration of Ronald's life at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
