Not sure what to say?

Justin Jordan, South Side '99

Mr. Holmes was one of the greatest teachers I've ever had. He was an extraordinary man and a wonderful example. Being an African American male, I didn't have many male teachers of color, and watching him wear suits and ties to class everyday and the way he carried himself and demanded respect in his classes (without yelling), was always inspiring. I will never forget the Vietnam Veteran interview projects and the debates over modern topics, as well as his shrapnel jar he kept in has class,...

Dear Members of Ron Holmes Family; I worked with Ron for 14 years at South Side High School. I was the school treasurer and we did many Penny War Drives for the Key Club. He was a kind and compassionate man and a joy to be around. He told me once that he had an opportunity to leave South and go to another school but chose to stay at South because he felt that he could do the most good there. He was so right. The students loved him and so did the staff. My sympathy at this time of losss.

My deepest condolences on your loss. While no words cannot make your hearts stop hurting, know that my thoughts and prayers go out to you all during your time of sorrow.
Sincerely,

Ron was a big influence in my life and I enjoyed every minute of my time with him when I managed basketball at Concordia.

Sorry to hear of Ronald's passing, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family. Jeremiah 29:11, 12 assures us God is thinking thoughts of peace towards us, to give us a future and a hope, and that if we come and pray to Him, He will listen to us. In the days to come may you find comfort in that hope.

To my favorite coach of all times, had it not been for you I would have never dreamed that playing college basketball was possible. You touched my life in so many ways thanks Coach
May God keep your family in his loving arms
