Not sure what to say?

To the Bruning Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you and especially to you, Cindy and your family. I spent many happy hours at the Bruning home during our high school years and they were always the most gracious and welcoming hosts to all of us. Remember making field day floats and having cheer practice at your house Cindy? And always having Big Fred's delivered to feed us all. Happy memories made possible by your mom and dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you my friend.

Family; Very sorry for your loss. Fred and Rose and myself go way back to the old bar where Fred use to have the union meetings and served the food. He always did like the police even after so many years and always had a smile on his face when he sat at the end of the bar and saw us old guys come in.he and Rose went thru many things in all the years past and all said they would go broke when they moved to 119th many a year back, but all see now as the right move

Harold Flemmer; OPD...

I worked for Fred and Rose almost from the beginning and always enjoyed them over the years. Rose was a person I will never forget. The Stover family will miss her.

You will be missed. You will forever be in my heart.

Thoughts and prayers to the Bruning family. I spent time with Rose - a dear woman - as a Home Instead Senior Care caregiver.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Bruning family... I grew up at Big Fred's making pizzas (sorry folks) as a 4 year old because that was the best form of entertainment for me while my parents had their "adult time" with the regulars at the end of the bar!! :) All very happy memories...My kids now enjoy our visits to Big Fred's and love hearing my stories of when I was a kid getting razzed by the regulars!! (i.e., hiding my favorite doll which allowed my folks more social time...

We are sorry to hear of Rose's passing. Our prayers go out to the Bruning family as you mourn your loss.

Roger, Lisa and Ryan Brewer

God Bless the family and close friends of Rose Bruning. What a wonderful lady. Rose and Fred were like Grandparents to my kids and treated my wife and I so well from our first visit to the restaurant in August of 1984. They are both Missed. David, Tina, Holly, Alec, Adam, and Bret.

So sorry to hear of Rose's passing. Rose and Fred were Omaha icons and she will be missed by so many in the community. I worked for Rose at Big Fred's, and she always had a smile for me. Prayers to the Bruning family.
