Roy W. Danielsen, 92, of Mount Bethel, PA passed away Tuesday, April 20th, at his residence.
Roy was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 23, 1928, the son of the late Torvald and Tilde (Hoiland) Danielsen.
Roy was married for 68 years to the late Ruth P. (Andersen) Danielsen, who passed away in January of 2020. Roy proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII stationed in Japan. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School (1948) and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the former Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn.
Roy was employed as the Sales Director for General Electric for the E.M.E.A. and Norway markets until retiring in 1986. Roy enjoyed singing in his church choirs, photography, painting, gathering with friends and family, and traveling.
As a member of the 59th Street Lutheran Brethren Church in Brooklyn, NY, he served as Elder and Sunday School Superintendent before moving to Norway, then Harvard, MA, and then his final move to Mount Bethel, PA where he was a member of Mt. Bethel Church and enjoyed being part of the Boys Club and church family. Roy was also on the Board of Directors for Tuscarora Inn & Conference Center in Mt. Bethel, PA for several years, a ministry he was happy to serve.
Roy is survived by three sons Steven Danielsen, husband of Sarah Beth, John Danielsen, and Peter Danielsen, husband of Clarice, and his 6 grandchildren Kris husband of Becca, Courtney, Lauren, Eric, Sarah, and Samuel. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Francis Pedersen, and Alice Lund.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, May 8th at Mt. Bethel Church, 1270 Belvidere Corner Road Mount Bethel, PA 18343. Family and friends are invited to call 1 to 2 PM on Saturday, May 8th at the church. Interment private at the convenience of the Family. Due to current COVID-19 guidelines face masks will be required and social distancing practices will be followed.
