Juanita L. Parrish, 73, of Guyton, GA, formerly of Hardeeville, SC and Bluffton, SC, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA.
Juanita ‘Nita’ was born June 6, 1952 in Rome, NY to the late Carl Dykhoff and Fern Nelson Dykhoff. She was a graduate of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School in Verona, NY, Class of 1970. Nita relocated to Bluffton, SC in the late 1980s, working as a librarian assistant for several libraries throughout her career, including the Beaufort County School District.
Nita dedicated many years of volunteering in the classrooms of M.C. Riley Elementary in the 90’s. Of course, Nita loved to read. When she wasn’t shelving or recommending books, she could be found enjoying the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved being on the water, whether it be on the May River or on the beach. Nita lived in Daytona Beach, FL and spent time in New Smryna and Flager Beach in her early and late twenties. Nita spoke of Daytona Beach, Flagler Beach, and New Smyrna Beach being her favorite places and often shared fond memories of her time there.
Nita is survived by her daughters, Trina Parrish (Andrew Kibler) of Guyton, GA and Amanda Parrish of San Diego, CA; son, Jesse Nettles of Greenville, SC; step-sons, Steven Molpus and Mitchell Molpus; and grandchildren, Kamari Parrish, Jacob Kibler, Kinsley Kibler, and Leilani Cabandon. She was preceded in death by her son, Dempsey Parrish and stepson, Brian Nettles.
