Rudolph Cardenas, Sr. Rudolph Cardenas, Sr. 80, of Austin, died Monday, February 14, 2005 following a struggle with colon cancer with his children by his side. He was born in Galveston and married Mary Frankie Savoie. She preceded him in death, August 25, 1999. He retired in 1985 as a building and remodeling contractor. He is survived by his daughters, Charlotte Kern, Julia Correa and husband, Pete, Debbie Smith and husband, Frank, Yvonne Stone and husband, Mike, Sharon Jean and husband Ronnie; sons, Rudolph Cardenas, Jr. and wife, Esther, Michael Cardenas and wife, Cindy, Kenneth Cardenas and Robert Cardenas; 18 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; brothers, Robert Cardenas and Charles Cardenas; sister, Louise Morales and their families. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2005 at the Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rudy Cardenas, III, Chris Cardenas, Brian Cardenas, Michael Cardenas, Michael Smith, John Cortez, Michael Stone, Pete Rivera and James Correa. The family request memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to Hospice Christopher House. Please join us in honoring our loved one by visiting our Memorial at www.mem.com.
