Ruth Lewis Dickerson

Ruth Lewis Dickerson, 83, of Ruckersville, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on August 17, 1928, in Dinwiddie, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Dickerson; four brothers, Raymond, Herbert, Therman and Lawrence; and four sisters, Dorothy, Edith, Susie and Annie. She is survived by her son, Lewis Dickerson and his wife, Betty, of Ruckersville; two grandchildren, Jason Dickerson and wife, Charlotte, and Rebecca Marshall and husband, Richie; five great-grandchildren, Brittany, Dalton and Emma Dickerson, Brooke and Chase Marshall, all of Ruckersville; and her faithful companion, Biscuit. She also leaves a sister, Rebecca Williams of Colonial Heights, Virginia; many friends, loved ones and a very special caretaker, Lori Stamatas.

A special thanks to Annie Lawson for all her love and support. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison conducted by Reverend John Green. The interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greene County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 302, Stanardsville, VA 22973.
