Not sure what to say?

Ruth was one of two teachers who inspired and encouraged me most to become a writer. I was lucky to enjoy a relationship with her long after elementary school. She will be missed.

I was lucky to have Miss. Halverson at meadowbrook. When we moved to the US she was the teacher who dried my eyes when all the kids teased and taunted me about my British accent! Even though I was 6-- I still remember her kindness now at 43!! May she rest in peace!!

My 4th grade teacher as well. The book I remember most often from her class is Island of the Blue Dolphins, though now that Dan mentioned it, I remember The Boxcar Children too! Still love to read. Thanks for being a great teacher!

Miss Halverson was my 4th grade teacher at Meadowbrook in Golden Valley. She was an inspiration from the first day of class when she wrote, "Plan a head" on the chalk board with some of the letters running down the side of the margin. Her love of teaching and reading made me enjoy class work---she read us all the, "Box Children" books in class; an hour each day.
She even came to my home with homework when I was out sick and made sure it was complete. She was a...

Ruth and I kept in almost daily contact thanks to the internet. After all these years, it's like losing my best friend each time I check email and don't find a thought provoking note from her. She was and is one in a million. I love her dearly. Miss you, love you Dear Ruthie - Dorothy

Miss Halverson was my 4th grade teacher at Meadowbrook and to this day she is the teacher who had the biggest impact on me. She was always so encouraging and pointed out my strengths while also pushing me to improve my work and ultimately myself. She will forever be my favorite teacher and my thoughts and prayers go out friends and family for your loss! She was an amazing lady!

Ruth and my mother, Erna, were church friends for years. When Ruth moved out of her house she gave my mother some plants from her garden. I have some of the plants now. I will think of Ruth when I see them.

Ruth was my mom's best friend (Hazel Kuecker). Most of my friends think she was my Aunt.
She energized my mom into researching and publishing our family's genealogy.
My daughter and I were blessed to have seen her just a few weeks before her passing. She challenged us to “Do it today!” and not procrastinate. She had a beautiful smile and generous heart. I too will miss our email updates. Barb (Kuecker) Drews

A conversation with Ruth always challenged me to think and give opinions. I had never interacted with anyone before that had such a profound effect on my making decisions about all topics we discussed. She was one of the dearest friends I have know in all 84 years of life. Our frequent e-mail communication will be sorely missed.
My deepest sympathy to her surviving family members for the loss of your one in a million Ruth. In sadness, Allie Burnell.
