Samuel Schatz

I am so sorry to hear of Sam's passing. He truly was a kind and gentle spirit at all times and I know he must have exhibited these qualities even during his most difficult moments.
I will always treasure our early golf days together when all of the ladies were first learning the game. Marsha- my deepest sympathy and warm thoughts go out to you and I will reach out to spend time with you soon. Love, Betsy

It remains my honor and privilege to have accompanies Sam as his chaplain at Stanford Hospital. I remain inspired by his humor and courage in the face of illness and the deep and abiding friendship and love that he shared with his wife Marcia. Sam, may your memory continue to bless us all.

I knew Sam from our golfing days in "GOATS". He was such a gentle, amiable guy. My thoughts are with Marcia.

We've known Sam for 25 years. When he was a bachelor he was a frequent visitor and a drop-in. We were that close that he'd knock on our door and with upraised eyebrows, would ask, "what's for dinner?" Our answer always was "come on in, whatever we have we'll share." And we did. He was always welcome at our table. We attended Sam's wedding at Harbor Point. We were so close I even made a short speech. He was a warm human being. He was always articulate, courteous and soft spoken. I don't recall...

I will surely miss seeing Sam in the neighborhood. He always had a kind word for everyone. We never seemed to get together on the golf course although we both talked a good game. I surely will miss his smile and his wave every time we passed one another. My deepest sympathy to you Marsha. Bev & I will always be here for your every need.
