Sam was a student in my Biological Foundations of Behavior course when he pursued his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Georgia. At that time, there was some research measuring a kind of electrical brain event that was supposed to be well correlated with intelligence. I looked up to Dr. Turner as a mentor and appreciate everything he did for me in my 3 years at Maryland. I will always hold him in very high regard and his influence on my life personally and professionally will not be forgetten.
