Sandra Lee Guay, 75, of Portland, died on Nov. 11, 2015. Sandra was born in Portland to Gertrude Flaherty Harrington and Winwood Harrington II on April 24, 1940.
Sandra attended grade school in Westbrook, Portland High School and was a graduate of SMVTI (SMCC).
She worked at New England Telephone Company as an operator, All State Insurance Agency in Reception, and ended her working career as a Dental Assistant to Dr. Johnson.
She was an active member of the women's auxillary at the American Legion Post 17 and developed many close friends along with her late husband Richard Guay throughout the years. She never missed a holiday party or Veteran's Day Parade. Additionally, she was a member of the Eagles Club.
Sandra enjoyed family gatherings, reading, and loved the City of Portland.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, and her brother Winwood Harrington III. She is survived by her only child Brenda Sawyer Morrison; her grandchildren, Keith Morrison, Kimberly Morrison Labrecque and husband Michael Labrecque; and her beloved great-granddaughter Blair Labrecque. She is also survived by her first husband and lifelong friend Benjamin Sawyer; and family.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday,, November 17, 2015 at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road in South Portland. Reception to follow at family home in Scarborough. Private burial planned for a later date.
