Sanford (Sandy) Grassgreen, age 80, died following complications related to Covid-19.

Sandy was born in Newark, NJ and spent much of his youth and adult life living at the NJ shore, both at Bradley Beach and in Ocean Township. Sandy began university at Rutgers and graduated from Monmouth College. He was an accountant and owner of bagel businesses. Sandy moved to Denver, Colorado in 1999 and remained in the Denver metro area (Arvada, Boulder, etc.) until his death.

Sandy G was a true east coaster who loved NY pizza, corned beef sandwiches, bagels and the New York Yankees. He also loved golden retrievers, especially his long-time canine companion, Norman. Above all else, Sandy loved his friends and family. He is survived by his sister Charlene Broglie (Gene, Kim, and Jeff), his daughters Randi Grassgreen (Tim) and Lori Grassgreen (Fletcher), as well as many cousins and friends who loved him and he loved right back.

Sandy was proudest of his sense of humor, his ability to recite the preamble to the Constitution on demand, and his uncanny skills in picking out the freshest produce. But above all, he always said his greatest accomplishment was being a father. So that's how he will be most remembered: as an always present and engaged dad who made everyone laugh. He will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. I had worked with him in penn station from 1977-1987 in the Bagel Corner then Bagel Menu when his brother Gene Broglie took it over. I was close with him. So so sorry

Such an interesting person, he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. May God comfort you and give you hope and strength during this time. I am so sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences.
