I was saddened to learn of Sara's death when reading the recent Macalester Today publication. I played volleyball with Sara at Mac. Not only was she one of the smartest players I ever played with, always knowing when the situation called for a clever tip or a perfectly placed killer spike, she was also one of the kindest, most creative, and genuine human beings I've ever met. During her time at Mac, she did stuff like adopt stray kittens and collect cans and bottles for recycling during...

I am deeply saddened to learn of Saras death. Although we had not been in touch for many years, I have always remembered her as one of my dearest friends. I met her while we were both studying weaving at the University of Oregon. We spent many happy hours together at our looms and outside of the studio. I attended her wedding to David, and was present at the hospital when Adrian was born.
Sarah made the world a more beautiful place. It is my hope that in or memories, she will continue...

I never knew Sara as an adult, but I recall her from grade school in Southwest Portland. I still remember her sharing with me in sixth grade stories about her family trip to Sweden the previous summer. That was so unusual at the time. The smartest girl in the class. Sad to hear she is gone.

We are so sorry for your loss, and know that words cannot ease the loss of a loved one. We intended to attend the Celebration of Life today, but our lives were interrupted by the flu.
