Scotty was a very good friend. He was kind and patient and fun. I am so grateful to Scotty for his role in introducing me to the Monastery. When I first arrived at the Monastery in 2004 Scotty was attending Rinpoche. He was so easy going and relaxed, and made it easy for me to relate to Rinpoche. We used to go out to lunch with Rinpoche and Scotty would often ask Rinpoche the questions I was too shy to ask. I can't express how important this was in my process of becoming Rinpoche's...

I feel like Scotty and I were true friends. We did everything together: we went walking in the woods, we went driving, we worked at the Monastery, we went to the movies, we had coffee and tea, we did all the camping trips. I sincerely treasure Scotty’s friendship - every minute – then and now - I still do. Every time I saw Scotty I was happy to see him and I feel he was happy to see me. We did everything together and we did nothing together. We would hang out and just talk and relax and...

Bob, Marlene and Family, I'm very sorry to hear of Scott's passing. I will hold onto my many fond childhood memories playing football and baseball at Greenlake with Scott, Steve, Bob, Lynn and the rest of the neighborhood gang. I wish you all peace.

Scottie and I were good friends through Sakya Monastery. We studied philosophy together and discussed many topics. I will miss him greatly and feel for his family's loss. I feel blessed to have know him.
