Not sure what to say?

I met Scott when he interviewed and hired me at MCI in 1997. Warm and engaging, I liked him immediately. It was easy to like Scott. Add to that the fact that, even when most others around him didn't, Scott "got it". He knew how to treat people in a way that made them feel wanted, special, and anything but worthless. He was one of the best managers I've ever had in 27+ years in I.T. and easily the best at MCI.

According to 2 Corinthians 5:8, to be absent from the body is to be...

One of the most considerate individuals I've had the privilidge of working with and getting to know as a person!
I will miss his friendship.
My sympathies to Penny and and his children of whom he spoke of often and lovingly.

I was impressed with Scott the very first time I met him. Working for him was an honor. He always made sure to give me a friendly hello and "how are you?". He took care of me when I worked for him and I will never forget him. I will miss him!

Scott was a delight to work with and most of what I know about IT, I learned from him. In the last year, however, I got to know another side to Scott. He was profoundly instrumental in deepening my relationship with God and challenging me to embrace a more demanding vision of what it is God desires. This is the Scott I will miss most and also the one who lives on, in some sense. My heart goes out to Penny and the family.

Scott was a bright light and an inspiration in our work together at Quantum. His genuine openness and ability to share his humanity with those around him set him apart as a leader. My heartfelt sympathies to Penny and his family on the loss of someone special.

Scott set an example for all of us in his personal life and his professional life. He had values and he stuck with them at all times. He taught us many things, and most of those came at times when he wasn't trying to be the teacher. He was a great role model. We will miss him. I will think of him when I hear things like "eat our own dog food", and "IT geeks". But mostly I will remember a man who truly cared about his friends and family. I agree with Sue - he always took the high road.

Scott lived life to the fullest and I'm glad I had the opportunity to know him. Sincere sympathy to Penny and his family.

Scott was a gift from God, and will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies are extended to his family. Scott was a blessing to me and many others. It was an honor to know him.

Scott was a true friend and mentor to me. He made a huge difference in my life and I will miss him dearly. We were all blessed to have him in our lives.
