Shana Eden Swers

Shana was a great friend of mine in college at GW.. I had no idea this had happened and am so sad to hear of her passing. She will be missed.

You will always be "little Shana Greatman" to me, from all the way back when you lived across the street and I babysat you for a couple of weeks one summer when I was pregnant with my own first child. Through the years I wondered what had become of you, and cannot believe that your life was so short. Now I pray that you wait in peace right now and that your family finds comfort, love and joy in every memory of you. My heartfelt condolences.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Jeff and Isaac. Even in her death, Shana has become someone "everyone knows" and has touched the hearts of so many of us who did not know of her prior to the article. The world is a better place because someone as lovely as Shana was here, and because she left behind such a beautiful baby boy. When I read Shana's story I kept expecting her to get better at the last moment. I started crying when I read she died.
I wish her family and friends all the luck in the world. I hope her son grows to be as wonderful a person as she was.

I'm not sure if your family will read this but I am so sorry, I know that the pain you all have felt every day pales in comparison to the pain that I am feeling right now. But in this moment after reading the story that the Washington post put online I feel some how connected.
