You will always be "little Shana Greatman" to me, from all the way back when you lived across the street and I babysat you for a couple of weeks one summer when I was pregnant with my own first child. Through the years I wondered what had become of you, and cannot believe that your life was so short. Now I pray that you wait in peace right now and that your family finds comfort, love and joy in every memory of you. My heartfelt condolences.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, Jeff and Isaac. Even in her death, Shana has become someone "everyone knows" and has touched the hearts of so many of us who did not know of her prior to the article. The world is a better place because someone as lovely as Shana was here, and because she left behind such a beautiful baby boy. I cannot begin to express how much my heart goes out to you, in having to go on without her. She lives on in your heart and Isaac will know her from the joyous...

When I read Shana's story I kept expecting her to get better at the last moment. I started crying when I read she died.
I wish her family and friends all the luck in the world. I hope her son grows to be as wonderful a person as she was.

I'm not sure if your family will read this but I am so sorry, I know that the pain you all have felt every day pales in comparison to the pain that I am feeling right now. But in this moment after reading the story that the Washington post put online I feel some how connected. I can't stop crying and I feel like someone very dear to me has been lost and I just have to her write someplace. Shana you are so beautiful and congratulations on your perfect baby boy, you would have been an amazing...

How tragic and so very sad. My heart is full of ache and utter dismay.
Shana, you are a beautiful soul and for all those fortunate to have known you, you will hold a forever piece of each and everyone's heart. For those of us who never had the blessed opportunity to know you personally but know about you only now, through your facebook entries, you will live on in our memories as a hero. RIP Love.
