SHARON L. "SHERI" KALE

SHARON "SHERI" L. (GRIFFIN) KALE, 70, passed to her eternal home on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at her home in Hicks-ville. Sharon was born April 12, 1945, a daughter of the late Don (Betty) Griffin and the late Wanzie (Stanley) Fojtik, in Monroe, Mich. She married her high school sweetheart, William Kale in 1963. They made their home and raised their family in Hicksville after Bill completed his military service. She worked 29 years at Sheller Globe, Grabill, Ind. When Sheller's closed she worked at Taylor University in Fort Wayne and then did private eldercare before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school many years. She was part of the Rotary Women and UM women ministries. She spent several years doing Y-Indian Guide with her son. Widowed in 1978 with an infant and two children under 13, she devoted herself in providing all she could for her kids. She served as Head Room Mother for all three of her children throughout their primary school years, using her vacation days. She was her children's biggest cheerleader and attended all their plays, concerts, and athletic competitions. She continued that devotion when she was blessed with grandchildren. "She will be deeply missed." Surviving are her children, Dawn Michele Kale of Houston, Texas, Chad Michael (Carol) Kale of Spangdahlem, Germany and Shellie Shawn (Jay) Kale-Burden of Leo, Ind.; four grandchildren, Wanzie Grace, Jayson, and Malachi Burden all of Leo, Ind., and Chad Michael Kale, Jr. of Spangdahlem, Germany; and many friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Edward Kale; and a brother, Lonnie Fojtik. Celebration of life is 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Grace United Methodist Church, 121 W. High Street, Hicksville, Ohio, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Hockemeyer Funeral Home, 17629 S.R 37, Harlan, Ind. Burial at Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan.
