Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory Obituary

Shirley Ann (Burr-O'Neal) Dillon, 71, of Arkansas City passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014, at the South Central Kansas Medical Center. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow. Pastor Tim Smith will officiate. Friends may greet the family 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Shirley was born April 10, 1943, to Arthur C. and Esther M. (Sumpter) Burr in Winfield, KS. She was reared and educated in Arkansas City. On October 7, 1964 she married John L. O'Neal. To this union they had two children, Shawn O'Neal and Kimberlee O'Neal-Clift. He preceded her in death July 4, 1979. Shirley later married Kelsey E. Dillon on January 12, 1981. Shirley worked at South Summit Carry Out, Bays Food Land, and Johnson Grocery. She was also a homemaker and housewife. Shirley loved her family and most of all cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Blessing Heights Church of God. Survivors include Kelsey Dillon of Newkirk, OK; son Shawn O'Neal; daughter Kimberlee Clift and partner Troy Ebert all of Arkansas City, KS; step-children Michael McCoy and wife Kathy of Arkansas City, KS; Michelle Weber of Blackwell, OK; brothers Gene Burr, Joe Burr and partner Kay, and Bob Burr; sister-in-laws Mildred Burr and Norene Nicely all of Arkansas City, KS; grandchildren Brittni Butt and husband Anthony, Kristian Graham and husband Tyler of Arkansas City, KS; Trison Graham of Edmond, OK; Colton O'Neal and wife Kassi, Taylor Graham, Maranda Graham and partner Leo Santana all of Arkansas City, KS; Braileigh Belair of Ponca City, OK; Brett and Morgan Weber of Blackwell, OK; Ashley, Kailee, and Brody McCoy of Arkansas City, KS; great-grandchildren Sydney, Madison, Brantly, Briggs, Khloie, Preslie, Zayden, Gisselle, Tytus, Rebel, Braxton, Avery, Ransom, Gentry, and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Lawrence O'Neal, brothers Arthur Cole Jr., Charles Edwin Burr Sr., nephew Charles Edwin Burr Jr., sister-in-laws Karna and Sally Burr, and her great-granddaughter Aniston Nicole O'Neal. A memorial has been established for the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.
