Shirley J. Kline, 89, of Mechanicsburg, PA, formerly of Bangor, PA passed away Wednesday, March 25th, at Colonial Park Care Center, Harrisburg, PA.


Shirley was born in Martins Creek, PA on December 10, 1930, a daughter of the late Alex and Ida (Holland) Dupont.


She was the widow of Forrest G. Kline, Jr. who passed away in 2006.  Shirley was employed as a baker and clerk in the Bakery Department at Weis Market in Bangor, PA until retiring in 1993. Prior to that, Shirley was employed as a sewing machine operator at various mills in the Slate Belt Area and also worked at Kline's Auto Repair in Bangor.


She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bangor, PA.


Shirley was also a member of UNITE, the garment workers union, and a member and past President of the Bangor VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the women's "Cooties".


Shirley is survived by a daughter, Helena Ninno, two sons, James Kline, husband of Sharon and Bruce Kline, husband of Janna, a brother, Charles Dupont,  6 grandchildren Heather Powers wife of Jon, Karissa Vescovich wife of Michael, Jesse Kline husband of Emily, Cody Kline, Nikita Tranotti wife of Dan and Kyle Kline husband of Katelyn, and 5 great-grandchildren Jacob Vescovich, Hayden, Ella Fay, Kinsley, and Kyla Kline.  Shirley was preceded in death by a brother Cressman Peter Holland.


Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, Bangor, PA.Arrangements have been entrusted to the James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.

We were extremely sorry to learn of Shirleys passing. We were very fortunate when we when purchased our home back in 1987 to have the Klines on one side of us and the Amys on the other. Good solid people that were just a joy to spend time with and shoot the breeze with a few times a week.
