HONORING YOUR MEMORY, MOM, ON THIS MEMORIAL DAY 2020 ~ our hearts ache every day since we lost you. You are loved and missed beyond words. Faith brings Hope, and Hope brings Peace; of both mind and heart.

If I could go back to the future, I would have made sure I met Momma Shirley sooner. Its very unfortunate for me that I only knew her for a very short time. We talk about "Love at First Sight" when speaking of a relationship between a man and a woman. Well, when I first met Shirley, it was "Love at First Sight" She was to me the Poster Child for all things good and kind. She was so gentle and loving. A trait that was passed on to her daughter, whom I Love Dearly. I...

I first had the pleasure of meeting Shirley (& Pops) when my Uncle Bob (Kimman) passed away. As the years went by I was fortunate enough to find out that their only daughter was friends with many people i knew. A friendship that has grown immensely over the years. I was lucky to have a couple more connections with Shirley over the years - what a wonderfully happy and sweet lady. So happy to have known you.. You now have your heavenly reward.

Collette Oldham wrote a poem for my mom, and after twice submitting it to the guestbook it never went through so she texted it to me and I would like to share her beautifully written poem in Honor of Our Mom

I never met your mom Darlene but she gave birth to a wonderful person who became my friend. May you rest in peace in your new home in heaven.

Lil Shirl was the most amazing, loving, beautiful soul I ever knew. I am so lucky to be able to call her my grandmother! She loved every member of her family so deeply and so genuinely. She supported her children and grandchildren with the biggest heart! I have so many memories with grandma Shirley but I will just highlight my favorites here. 1: Grandma spent hours sitting in her cozy room recording Muppet Babies for me and cutting out all of the commercials. 2: Going Trick or Treating at...

Mom Shirley you were a very sweet lady. Knowing you since I was 4,you were more than a neighbor you were family. You will be greatly missed. But I know you and pops are together again. You left a great legacy in your huge family. Rest in peace Mom Shirley

To My Mama, Little Shirley ~ You were set to come home in four days, and we had everything needed to take care of you at home, from a new hospital bed & hospital bedside table, to a new walker, and a shower chair. A wheelchair was set at the dining table. We prayed that you would soon be at your home where you wanted to live out the rest of yours days. We wanted to take care of our mom, whom took such wonderful care of us all throughout our lives. We wanted you home, but so did the...

Shirley always made me smile! Seeing her sit for hours watching the Yankees or SU basketball was so seeet. Live and will you, my other mom.
