Family-Placed Obituary

MOORE, Shirley A. Age 78, of Riverside, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born July 2, 1929 in Neponset, IL to Edward and Florence (Engle) Van Meir, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her son, Douglas M. Moore, a sister, Betty Crockett and a brother, Donald Van Meir. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Dale V. Moore; three daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and William Froschaver, Denyse and Frank Carone, Dawn and Van Short; two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Cristi Moore, Dale G. and Connie Moore; a sister, Ginger Kinnison; three brothers, Peter, Edward and Gary Van Meir; her mother-in-law, Wilda Webber; special friends, Dorothy and Ralph Nieter; 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and numerous other relatives and friends. She was a devoted and long time member of St. Helen Parish. Shirley was a master fiber artist and an exceptional seamstress who was employed for many years as the manager of Monique Fabrics and the Daytex Fabric Outlet and retired from Hancock Fabrics. Among Shirley's many interests were her love for traveling and camping in the Smokey Mountains. Prayers will be held 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 A.M. at St. Helen Catholic Church with Father David Brinkmoeller, celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Trinity Community of Beavercreek and Hospice of Dayton for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association , Hospice of Dayton, or the St. Helen Endowment Fund. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
