Not sure what to say?

I only learned today of Solomon's passing. My love and deepest sympathy go out to his family. I first met Solomon when we were students at Willard Junior High. I admired his calm and sensible demeanor and his dry sense of humor. I'll miss our occasional encounters at Safeway.

I am saddened to find out about the passing of Solomon Wheat. Mr. Wheat was a true educator and quite the character. Always humorous and extended his words of wisdom to me. He instructed English, history and critical thinking classes when I attended Far West High School. Mr. Wheat always motivated me to be my very best and stay on point. I became acquainted with his family after high school and a great bunch they are : )My condolences to the Wheat family no doubt. Gone too soon. Till we meet...

Solomon, It was a privilege to have known you.

Mr. Wheat use to say to us students at Farwest Highschool"Have Pride." He was a wonderful teacher and is fondly remembered. My prayers are with the family

I have known Solomon since our Willard Jr. Hi and Berkeley High days. We played pick-up basketball and football together. We at all the playgrounds all over Berkeley: Live Oak, Willard, Le Conte, Grove St. park, and ect. I could never keep up with him. I always tried to make sure he was on my side. I will miss him.

Solomon was a lifelong family friend. I always admired his thoughtfulness and enjoyed hearing his stories about his growing up and playing basketball. He used to tell me they called him "Sweet Wheat" on the court. Our families have known each other for decades and he had a huge influence on me and my educational path. As a child, I loved how Solomon always made thinking and using your brain look cool. Bless you, Sol! He was a bright and shining light and will be sorely missed....

To the Family Of Solomon Wheat,
Know that Solomon's Berkeley High School classmates are grieving the loss of their cherished classmate. Solomon was a gentle spirit who was an awesome athelte bringing BHS much glory and honor from his abilities. We are not surprised that he lived a full life filled with the love of family and friends and a legacy of helping young people to flourish. He will be missed and his memory always cherished.

To a good teacher who was a lot of fun

Our hearts go out to the Wheat Family! Mr. Wheat was an AMAZING individual... To say he was encouraging is an understatement... He had such a gentle spirit and truly loved education and sharing it's importance.

I am so thankful to have had you in my life.

May the LOVE of the Lord continue to SHINE upon you
