I remember the gatherings Steve and Steffi had at their house as the academic heat began. Steve was a genuine and kind man! Anne Fein

I have many found memories of Steve (and Steffi) as they became, in many ways, surrogate parents to me while I was an undergraduate attending SIT during the 1980's. I kept in touch for years after and am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing (unfortunately too late to attend the service this past Saturday). Mr. Booth was my favorite teacher at Moses Brown. His practical style of of teaching taught me how to analyze my writing and to this day I think of his classroom often. As my 50Th reunion approaches at Moses Brown in 2022 my experiences with Mr. Booth will be for sure a topic of conversation.

I concur with everything Lee said. Often students told me about Steve's class and studying the Bill of Rights, which he brought to life for them. I remember his dry sense of humor and his kindness.

I have fond memories of Steve and Steffi as my colleagues at Landmark College. Steve taught a course about the Supreme Court which he passed on to other instructors after he left. Many students left Landmark with a better understanding of government thanks to Steve's love of teaching and history.
