Stephen Curtis Carlson

Steve was my roommate freshman year at Princeton. There were three of us, all fresh first year students away from home. We shared a suite at Witherspoon Hall: myself a Canadian; a wonderful energetic Chinese fellow from Hong Kong; and Steve, a fine mid-Western American gentleman. We three had great debates on all the important political and philosophical issues that should arise in that learning environment. Steve recruited me and was my mentor. He taught me how to be a lawyer. We tried a two-month case in Arizona together. He was a good friend and a wonderful man. He will be missed.
