Not sure what to say?

Practicing with Dr. Chiavetta I can say he always went out of his way to help his patients. He was a very caring and compassionate doctor and person. I know he touched a lot of peoples lives. I pray for peace for his family and his children.

At time like this I regret not keeping in touch. You'll be missed Steve. RIP.

Steve was one of a kind, and we will treasure always our memories of him. We hold the Chiavetta family close in our hearts.

My deepest sympathies go out to the entire Chiavetta family; especially his children. I worked with Dr. Chiavetta at Coastal Carolina Eye Clinic for 6 years. He was a wonderful, caring man and always put his patients first. Although I never understood why anyone who went to Duke pulled for that Carolina basketball team. But that's okay---He was a cutie pie and I will miss him. My prayers are with the family.

My thoughts and prayers go out the Chiavetta family. He was a great classmate and wonderful physician.

When I left Wilmington 10 years ago I asked Dr. Chiavetta for a referral to Chapel Hill, my new home. He provided a name saying, "He is 'for the patient' like I am." He was right on the referral and always so diligent with my various eye issues. My deepest condolences.

Dr Chiavetta was a great physician. I was his patient at the Portersneck office. Can't believe what has happened. He always talked about his wonderful children and wife who he loved very much. God bless him and his family peace.

In memory of a gifted surgeon who truly cared about helping others.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
