He attended Ridgefield Elementary School, graduated in the first graduating class of Wilton Junior High School, and graduated from Westport’s Staples High School (as there was no high school in Wilton at that time) in 1955. On his 55th birthday, he retired from the post office to enjoy wintering in Florida and summering in Rowayton. Mr. O’Sullivan had many interests. He sailed the Long Island Sound for many years in various boats , each dubbed “The Peg O” named for his beloved wife. His home building and renovations were a life long, never ending passion. He was involved in the community and served, in his youth, as a Wilton Fire Company volunteer. Committed to the natural environment, he served for a number of years as the president of the Farm Creek Association, and was instrumental in saving the Farm Creek Wetlands from being developed. He served as a Rotarian for twenty five years in many capacities, including president of Cos Cob Rotary Club.
