Dr Orr was my doctor for over 12 years. I met him at a clinic around 2000 in Athens. I followed him to Winder as a patient. He was the only doctor that made feel very comfortable being treated. He always took the time to talk to me about anything I was concerned about .When we moved to SC in 2012 I really missed him. I'm retiring next year and returning to Georgia , was hoping to reconnect as doctor/ patient. So sorry to hear. My heart goes out to his family.

I am saddened to hear of your passing Dr. Orr, I couldnt have asked for anything better when I found you after moving from NY over 13 years ago. You were always giving great advice to every question, I asked. My sympathies to your family, fellow patients and friends.

My family had seen Dr. Orr for years. Every time we went we would make comments about how long it would take but, more importantly, we would make comments about how when Dr. Orr did come in he would sit down cross his legs and lean back and just talk with you. We knew that he would listen to whatever issues you were having and we knew that his style of medicine and bedside manner was what we came for. I still haven't found a doctor like him and I doubt I ever will.

I loved Dr. Orr there are so many doctors that could learn from him. He always called me kiddo and would ask about my family. I felt that he cared about about everyone that he took care of he had so much compassion. I do not believe that he can be replaced he was wonderful.

Steve joined my practice when he finished his residency. We built an office together and a practice together. His office was modified to hold his fish tanks. I remember when he met Bonnie. When the practice was sold, he ended up in his home town of Winder. We lost track of each other when Asher was born. I did not see him until several years ago. He looked the same. Beard. Jeans. Crocs. Still just as friendly. He was dedicated to medicine and was an excellent physician to his patients. He has left me with some great memories. He is missed. I pray for the Peace of God for his family.

Thank you for being my personal physician for so many years.
Thank you for saving my life in 2004 due to a brain aneurysm
when nobody knew ehat to do after running an MRI and Cat Scan
Test that results showed nothing, you were always up to date reading
in The Monthly Medical Journals.
You just read about a new " MRA Test " that finds the smallest of aneurysms
and or tumors.
Yes they found my small aneurysm because of you reading and knowing
what test to run, you making a call to Dr, Cole a Neuro in Athens and he
ran the MRA Test that found the aneurysm and he sent me to Dr. Cawley
at Emory in Atlanta. It was there that Dr. Cawley / Staff along with God,
all were responsible for saving my life thru 2 operations in the year 2004!
Yes you Dr. Orr were the 1st to get everything started on my aneurysm
and I thanked you many times but I don't think you realized how much
I truly cared about you.
I thought of you for saving my life and then you maintaining my health care
over the yrs since the surgeries. From 2004 till March 2018 you truly did
amazing with my health as I have survived 14 yrs this yr since those surgeries.
Thank you being the caring primary physician you always were at every visit.
Thank God for you Dr. Orr and all of the time / yrs you took good care of me.
May you RIP now and be the Angel in Heaven that you were on earth helping
ppl by being the physician you were and being so very kind, caring and such a knowledgeable physician that we all knew you to be.
Dr. Orr, you will forever remain in our hearts and truly you will be missed so very
much. ♥♥
Until we meet again...

Steven and I were medical students together at SECOM in florida. I really got to know him when we were roommates in Port St Lucie Fla doing a rural rotation. Always upbeat, genuine, and caring. I learned a lot about Winder Georgia from Steven and our time together binded us in a way that lasts forever. As a member of the State Board of Medical Examiners for Georgia, he contributed to our profession and helped maintain the standard or excellence that we all expect. RIP Steven; You are already missed

My husband was a patient of Doctor Orr for over 20 years. They talked about farming and fishing whenever he had an appointment to see him. He will miss him greatly. Not only as his physician, but as a friend. Our sympathy is with the family at their time of loss.
