R. Stephen Alexander - Salem, SC R. "Steve" Alexander, of 7 Eastern Point, beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with our Lord on Sunday night, August 30, 2009, at AnMed Health Center in Anderson, SC. He had recently returned from several months in treatment in Houston, TX. Born in Oconee County, a son of D. Broadus Alexander of Townville, SC, and the late Mozelle Lindsey Alexander, Mr. Alexander graduated from Clemson University in 1966 and was employed with Duke Energy as Human Resource Manager for the Central Region in Charlotte, NC, and later held the same position for the Southern Region. He was with Duke Power for thirty-two years, retiring in January of 2002. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carolyn Gibson Alexander of the home; a daughter, Stephanie Alexander of Six Mile; SC; a son, Richard Alexander and wife, Dr. Megan Alexander, of Winston-Salem, NC; and three beloved grandchildren, Richard Aidan Alexander, Nora Elizabeth Alexander, and Cera Anne Alexander. Also surviving are dearly loved nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, Mr. Alexander was predeceased by a brother, Michael Alexander. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Pittman and Rev. Richard Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, Easley, SC, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, and will be placed in the church at 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family is at the residence and also at the home of Stephanie Alexander, 131 Six Mile Mountain Road, Six Mile, SC 29682.
