GERKEN, STEVE—age 50 of Knoxville, died at 6:24 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2005 at home. Member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. Former coach of the Knoxville Stars Baseball team. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and a friend to many.

Preceded in death by father, Bob Gerken; twin brother, Stanley Gerken.

Survivors: sons, Matt and wife, Amanda Gerken, and Aaron Gerken; grandson, Isaac Gerken; mother, Anna Cooper Gerken Brewer and stepfather, Andy Brewer; sister, Linda Hanshaw; brother, Stewart and wife, Sissy Gerken; several nieces and nephews; devoted former wife, Carleen Gerken.

A funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16 in Stevens Chapel with Rev. Clyde Lakin and Rev. Barney Evans officiating.

Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service and interment.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at Broadway.

I am Steve's Step-Father (I can call him my son) In sixteen years of
married life with his great & Prayful mother, we never had a cross word. Ann & I want to thank everyone, and there were many for the condolence with prayers, and the food that was brought by. Have'nt we got a great God.
