Not sure what to say?

I went to Everett High with Steve. He was lots of fun and very special friend. One night in our senior year, several of us went to the drive in movie. Steve and I climbed in the trunk and yes, we got caught. Heaven just received a great soul. My sympathy to Steve's family.

I met Steve in the early 1980's while both of us were IBM managers covering the Boeing account. By the mid-80's Steve accepted a position in Tucson and moved his family to the desert (where they are still enjoying the climate today). With help from Steve I moved my family to Tucson where we worked together until 2000 and my retirement. Steve was a great friend, dedicated IBM'er, and an active family man. He was a large part of my working career and family life for which I am forever...

Playing sports for Cascade, we were in awe of Steve's football and track abilities. He would run thru, over and around us on the football field. When he ran the 100 and 200 the race would be for 2nd place. He was a person everyone looked up to.

In 1981, I transferred from IBM HQ to Seattle to be near the woman I wanted to marry. My first manager in Seattle was Steve. Lucky, lucky me! A special person who could get along with people at any level. I remember that he was a fast dude who I believe was on a relay team at the 1968 Olympic Trials. Steve and I maintained a cordial relationship and I counted on him for guidance on any IBM career decisions. So sad. One of the good ones.

Single Memorial Tree

Steve was my first Systems Engineering manager at IBM. He was also the fastest sprinter I ever knew at IBM. I will miss him terribly. Rest in Peace, Steve! Bill Sherertz
